THIS WEEK’S EVENTS:
We will have Vacation Bible School this week Monday through Friday evenings from 7 to 8:30 for children that just finished the 3-year-old class through 8th grade. Kids will be in the class that they completed for the 2023-24 school year. We will have services in the sanctuary for the Bible class students and the rest of the church on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Please be prayerful for the ministers that will be speaking.
Monday-Bro. Daniel Leman from Washington
Wednesday-Bro. David Prevo from Bloomington
Friday-Bro. Joel Hartman from Fairbury
We plan to have pie night on Friday evening. Please sign up at the message center to bring a pie if you would be willing. Contact Sis. Tiffany Ruegsegger with any questions.
We plan to continue the service project already begun at 202 E. Robinson Street in Goodfield on Saturday, July 13th from 7:00 a.m. to noon. This is a fairly extensive remodel on a house for a young woman in need. There will be work for individuals of all skill levels. There is opportunity to provide food for the workers, help on the project, and we also need some equipment so please take a look at the sign-up. Please sign up using this link if you can help. Contact Bro. Doug Glueck with any questions.
Our dear brother Roy Wyss passed away this week. His visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Knapp Johnson Funeral Home in Morton and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday morning at the church. Funeral will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the church. It is Group 2's turn to help and bring food for the funeral. Please sign up here if you can help. Please pray for Brother Dale and Sister Susie and the entire Wyss family.
LOCAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The 48th annual Gateway Woods Auction will be held on Saturday, August 3rd. If you wish to donate items or sign up to volunteer, please see Bro. Erik or Sis. Carrie Wiegand for details. Items must be in to them by July 17th. Our Goodfield congregation is blessed to have several members of our church family serving at Gateway Woods so your support is greatly appreciated.
NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Proclaim & Serve 2024 missions conference is Saturday, July 13 at Bluffton Church. Everyone is invited to this inspiring and thought-provoking event. You do NOT need to be a missionary or be actively involved in an outreach to attend. ALL are encouraged to come and be inspired, be challenged, and be better equipped to share the gospel. Learn more and register before the July 9 deadline at proclaimandserve.org.
All brothers and sisters throughout the land are encouraged to attend the 2024 General Conference of the Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria on August 9. The theme is “For Such a Time as This.” It will be a wonderful day of worship, fellowship, and learning.
The Conference now has a new format. In addition to the normal pulpit messages and panel discussion, this year attendees can choose from a selection of breakout presentations and small-group discussions with leadership. And we’ll have more fellowship breaks and opportunities to praise God with singing.
In order to provide this new, customized conference experience, attendees must register online in advance at
www.apostolicchristian.org/general-conference. There you can see a detailed agenda for the day with descriptions of all the sessions.
To ensure more people have opportunity to attend, the registration deadline has been extended to July 12.
Our prayer is that this modified conference format will facilitate a strengthening of our bonds of love to each other, to Jesus, and his Word.
